Bourges Marshlands

Only ten minutes from the Old Town, the marshlands offer a breath of fresh air and a great place to stroll.
The flourishing truck-gardening industry that existed here in the 19th century has now declined, but the labyrinth of 1000 gardens and meandering streams continues to surprise visitors with it their quaint and quiet charm.
The annual “Feast of Saint Fiacre” (patron saint of gardeners) held here in September is an especially colorful event.

Crossing through town and the neighboring countryside, this lazy waterway provides an enjoyable setting for strolls or fishing along it banks.
